Song of the Day: Gently Tender – Don’t Sleep

A little over a decade ago, UK indie rockers Palma Violets made some waves with their debut album 180 and its follow up, Danger in the Club. Every now and then, I still give their biggest single “Best of Friends” a spin, but it wasn’t until recently that I learned that former members of Palma Violets have since gone on to form another band.

That band, Gently Tender, will soon be releasing their sophomore album, This Was Once Fields, and yes, I suppose it’s entirely on me for not paying attention and completely missing out on that first album (2022’s Take Hold Of Your Promise!). But it’s too late to look back now – on to album #2 it is. Gently Tender’s latest single “Don’t Sleep” is a bit more mellow and breezy than the sounds of Palma Violets, but no less compelling. Check it out below.

This Was Once Fields is due out Friday, October 16 via TODO Records.
