Song of the Day: pizza4sluts – Talk About the Moon

Who doesn’t want to be on the cutting edge of the music scene? Anyone? Anyone? No? That’s what we thought.

Coming out of COVID, if you weren’t too busy cultivating sourdough starters, you may very well have been listening to and experimenting with some musical genres or artists who were previously hidden from view by pre-pandemic activities and distractions. On the other side of the listening coin, there were a few select Millennials who were picking up ukuleles and mics and churning out new tunes. How to know who to pay attention to? Let us tell you.

Straight from the city of deep dish itself, pizza4sluts, founded and fueled by the lovely and talented Chicagoan Ms. Allison Staulcup, is here to rock your world. The singer-songwriter has graced us with her debut release “Talk About the Moon,” a lilting and lovely track that reminisces on unspoken questions and nostalgia for what never was. A perfect track for a pandemic world where we’ve spent so much time sitting in our apartments ruminating on the world outside, Staulcup’s smooth singing voice backed by the light chords of the ukulele make a perfect combo for this stripped down, achingly bittersweet track. It is guaranteed to give you chills and make the perfect soundtrack to kick off your autumn. Put down that sourdough slice and hit play – the sooner you listen the sooner you’ll love it.
