Song of the Day: Free Energy – Electric Fever

It’s JULY already. This means it’s warm outside and the days are long. It also means it’s cottage season, so fire up those grills, pack up your knapsack and latch onto any white friends you have who have cottages. For me, cottages are about good times and classic rock. I think this is because one of the groups of people I go to cottages with love classic rock and we always end up listening to a local radio station at the cottage. It’s almost always Saturday all request night and all the the requests go something like this:

DJ: “Hey there, what you want to listen?”
Dude: “Hey man, long time listener, first time caller. Really enjoy your show. Me and the boys are here sitting in the garage downing some buds and would love to listen to some Rush”

Nevertheless, classic rock sounding bands have a place in my heart.

This brings me to Free Energy. This American rock act recently released their sophomore album Love Sign and it’s the exact type of record you carry out with you to your nearest lake. Big guitar bursts, frequent cowbells and feel good lyrics populate this record and it’ll have you reaching for your bell bottom jeans in no time.
