Song Of The Day: Filthy Friends – Despierta

Supergroup alert!

Filthy Friends is the new project from Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney), Peter Buck (REM), Kurt Bloch (Fastbacks), Bill Rieflin (Ministry, King Crimson), Linda Pitmon (The Baseball Project, Steve Wynn & The Miracle 3) and Scott McCaughey (the Minus Five, Young Fresh fellows). When the musicians involved have that kind of pedigree, you can be pretty sure you’re going to get something good.

Filthy Friends’ debut album Invitation is out now via Kill Rock Stars. “Despierta,” the first single off the album, was originally released as part of the anti-Trump project 30 Songs For 30 Days and it is indeed something good. Give it a listen:
